Frequently Asked Questions

Is ketamine therapy right for me?

Intravenous (IV) ketamine provides a gentle reset by treating PTSD, anxiety, major depressive disorder, OCD, and chronic pain from its root cause. If you have chronically struggled with any of these issues and have not been aided by traditional treatments, ketamine therapy may be right for you.

How does ketamine work?

Ketamine enhances neural connections and promotes dendritic regeneration, improving ability for clarity and focus. Ketamine binds to NMDA receptors in the brain, increasing glutamate in the synapse which activates connections in AMPA receptors. The blockade of NMDA receptors and activation of AMPA receptors lead to the release of other molecules that help neurons communicate with each other along new pathways, promoting synaptogenesis.

What does a course of treatment look like?

The course of treatment differs and can be personalized to the individual patient's needs. Generally, patients come in for a course of six to 12 infusions over the span of 2-6 weeks. Patients may choose to return for booster doses as needed following the initial six infusions.

Yes. Ketamine has commonly been used as an anesthetic for decades. All infusions are administered by a board certified M.D. anesthesiologist and titrations can be adjusted as needed or suggested by the patient during the infusion.

How much does a ketamine infusion cost and is it covered by insurance?

Preparation and integration sessions are $100/20 min. Intravenous ketamine infusions are $650. Treatments include continual monitoring and titration by MD. The treatment includes a 40 minute infusion and 20 min recovery. IV ketamine infusions are not covered by insurance at this time, despite being the gold standard for curing treatment resistant depression (TRD).
